From concept to design through to finished product, our Bespoke Parts Programme enables us to offer you a product the way you envisage and to revolutionise your ideas. From CAD drawings, samples or even just your ideas, Motive Components will develop these parts to become an item of today.

Many parts have been formed from your innovative ideas to provide solutions for some of the more problematic engines of yesteryear and today. By using the latest technology available in the automotive production world, Motive Components utilise these methods and bring 21st century finished parts that can run throughout any degree of engines. Engines are not limited to petrol, diesel, gas or LPG but are made to run on even some of the more natural resources that are available from our world. Some forms of engine offer a 24 hour running cycle and the complex situation this creates develops its own problems to overcome.

All O/E standards are maintained by our manufacturers using the latest CNC and Adcol technology, providing the necessary finish required for these component parts to Q5000 & IS9002 standards.

Camshafts


Motive work with leading manufacturers and the latest manufacturing technologies to produce Camshafts to a wide range of material specifications.

Chilled iron, steel, induction iron and sintered have become key components in the full array of products offered for today’s varied car parc. Our range has expanded dramatically in line with manufacturing capability developments and we now offer one of the largest ranges of Camshafts available to the worldwide automotive aftermarket.

All O/E standards are maintained by our manufacturers using the latest CNC and Adcol technology, providing the necessary finish required for these component parts to Q5000 & IS9002 standards.

Cylinder Heads


Motive’s comprehensive catalogue of cylinder heads and all associated parts allows us to compete with the world’s largest suppliers.

Driven by high customer demand for quality assured cylinder heads for the O/E markets, our parts are sourced from manufacturers certified to ISO9001 and TS16949 standards

Engine Bearing Shells


Motive has always been linked with the expertise of the Engine reconditioners and Engine rebuilders and therefore engine bearing shells have always played a formal part of the supply programme. From the supply of named brands, Motive also recognised the importance of establishing an own brand make and work with one of the world’s most prestigious brand names to complete this and bring this to you, the customer. From some of the most famous vehicle parc’s to the most robust of engines, Motive’s range concentrated on customer demand and produced to the standards and materials that are required for the extreme loads that are applied to todays, as well as yesterday’s vehicles. All bearings are produced in the materials needed to give the best performance for the required loads demanded by the engine, from Heavy Duty tri-metal to aluminium silicone materials all with the latest coatings.
 

Engine Sensors


Motive Component’s camshaft and crankshaft sensor range offers extensive application coverage across the vehicle parc. We focus on producing the highest quality products, ensuring your replacement is reliable with quick delivery.
                       
The camshaft sensor measures the relative rotational position of the camshaft. This signals, in conjunction with the crankshaft position, the stroke each cylinder is on. The ECU uses the signal to determine when to inject fuel, among other important information for the correct running of your vehicle.
 
The crankshaft sensor is one of the key providers of information to the engine control. It detects the speed and position of the crankshaft and forwards this information to the engine control unit.

Gaskets & Sets


Motive offer a comprehensive range of gaskets using their very own established joint venture partners already supplying the O/E markets. Motive has been able to expand their range to complement the market by supplying gaskets for classic vehicles and for today's modern and expanding car parc whilst maintaining the quality without deferring from the standards set by O/E products.

Motive also has the ability to develop bespoke gaskets for specialist engines in copper, MLS (Multi Layered Steel) and composite material incorporating all the latest silicone based coatings providing the newest sealing technology. Many specialist rubber mouldings, oil seals and components can be produced in small or large production runs from drawings or samples supplied. These can include items from rubber grommets to door moulding sets.

Head Bolts


Sealing or torqueing down the Cylinder Head is an integral part of the engine re-build and in doing so it is imperative to replace the Cylinder Head Bolts for all models that have 'stretch' bolts. Workshop manuals will advise that if bolts have not stretched beyond their limits then they can be re-used but experience tells us that this is not always the case and we recommend that they should be replaced. To aid this, Motive has new additions to this product range to cater for much of today's modern vehicle parc, using the latest materials to enable a true sealing procedure.

Hydraulic Gear Pumps


All Hydraulic Gear Pumps are thoroughly tested and examined before being supplied to guarantee optimal levels of functionality and duration.

These hydraulic gear pumps can work under heavy operating conditions and transmit high hydraulic power and in turn feature good hydraulic, mechanical, and volumetric efficiency, low noise level and, last but not least, compact dimensions.

Generally these gear pumps usually consist of a gear pair supported by two aluminium bushes, a body, a securing flange and a cover. The shaft of the driving gear projecting beyond the flange mounts a twin-lip seal ring.

The body of the pump is made of special hi-resistant aluminium alloy obtained through extrusion process, while flange and cover are made out of spheroidal cast iron; this in order to ensure minimised deformation even when subject to high pressure, be it continuous, intermittent or peak pressure. Gears are made of special steel, their manufacturing process includes case-hardening and quench hardening, gears are then grounded and fine finished to a high degree of surface finishing.

Oil Pumps


Motive produces and supplies a vast range of oil pumps to meet the changing demands of the modern automotive aftermarket, covering engine sizes from 600cc -12000cc for everything from passenger vehicle cars to agricultural and heavy duty commercial vehicles.

Motive works closely with some of the world’s leading suppliers and manufacturers to maintain the high quality required for these industrious engine parts. As the mainstay of the engine lubrication system, all oil pumps are batch tested in our own Quality Control department to ensure the product meets our strict ISO9001:2008 certified standards.

Oil Sump Pans


Our new comprehensive Oil Sump Pan range is now in stock. These also include the required silicone sealant with ultra high temperature range.
 
This new comprehensive range will cover much of today’s vehicle parc with new references being added on a regular basis.
 
The range is made using the latest forging technology together with the highest grade of materials.

Piston and Liners


Motive was synonymous with the manufacturer of pistons from the outset. By taking on a leading brand in the early days of the Automotive Aftermarket Motive were enabled to offer a competitive range of pistons at  competitive prices and form an unprecedented supply chain with engine reconditioners and engine builders alike. From this, the path taken now is more in line with customers demand and lends itself to the bespoke production part of the business. By working with selected companies that offer ISO/TS16949, IATF16949 it enables Motive to offer not only standard materials but can bring hypereutectic pistons as well as forged to its range.
 
Motive’s liners are mainly of grey cast iron, using mainly GG25 or GG30 depending on customer’s requirements. Any type of dry flanged or wet liner can be produced and include sizes up to; ID: 65 – 150mm, OD: 70 – 170mm, L: 50 – 270mm.
Most are produced by way of centrifugal casting which helps to eliminate the possibility of hidden porosities, blow holes and casting defects common to conventional castings. All are produced to drawings either supplied or created and signed off. All systems are worked and controlled within the ISO:9001:2008 certification awarded.

Piston Rings


Manufactured and supplied by O/E suppliers to IS9002 standards in the latest materials with the newest equipment in order to provide a product to meet the high demands and durability of today's engines. Motive's Piston Ring programme enables them to cover much of today's vehicle parc with sizes from 10mm through to 200mm. With the ever increasing customer demand it is feasible that a comprehensive bespoke range of Rings can also be produced to complement the already stocked items.

Rocker Shafts


Our extensive, carefully selected range of rocker shafts allow us to meet the most specific or niche customer demands, from classic vehicles such as the Triumph TR4 through to more modern day diesel applications e.g. the Ford Transit 2.4TDCI or the Mitsubishi L200.


We supply precision-engineered shafts made from varying grades of steel and hardened to required O/E specifications, this enables the oscillating levers (rocker arms) to convey the radial movement of the camshaft lobe into linear movement at the valve end.

Timing Chain Kits


Premium aftermarket timing chain kits for 2000+ applications

 
Our wide range of timing chain kits include chain, tensioners, gears, guide rails, bolts and sprockets. All components are manufactured by Motive’s carefully selected OE certified manufacturing partner, to guarantee consistent quality and interoperability.
 
Every component is coded and exhaustively batch-tested by our engineering team in our own in-house testing facilities to assure compliance with OE standards and tolerances. We use Rockwell and Vickers hardness reads for comparison with the corresponding OE product. All chains are additionally pre stretched to shorten the running-in period.

Transmission Pumps


Our large range of rotor type fixed displacement pumps are built to last by using only the highest quality materials, together with standards and procedures that reinforce excellence.

Our portfolio is the result of our extensive experience of transmission pumps, including long-term relationships with customers and suppliers. It is based on a strong commitment to research and development, as well as industry-wide standards, and addresses both customers’ business and technology demand.

Valves and Guides


Motive’s Valve & Guide range covers over 20,000 applications and in doing so covers a vast array of the world’s vehicle parc but not forsaking the ability to manufacture custom valve train components through our Bespoke Programme to meet some of the most obscure vehicles.

All parts go through rigorous Quality testing; Valves are certified to TS16949, ISO: 9001:2008 standards to ensure the highest quality and meet the exacting performance standards required as well as offer the longevity for the vehicle parc that we supply.

VVT Gears


To further enhance our Timing Chain Kit range, a selected programme of VVT Gears have been introduced. As with most modern day engines, VVT(Variable Valve Timing) is more commonplace on engines to reach the desired performance, fuel economy or emission levels by way of altering the valve lift.
There are many ways in which this can be achieved with mechanical, electro-hydraulic (VVT Solenoids) and camless systems.

This expanding range has been developed from ISO/TS16949 certified manufacturers to offer a 100% fully tested product. With this in mind, the Timing Chain Kits are also available to accompany these gears.

VVT Solenoids


A carefully selected range of VVT Solenoids (also known as oil control valves), produced and offered by our highly certified ISO/TS16949 manufacturer.

All Solenoids are individually tested for; coil resistance, current test, duty cycle, IQ curve, stop-start over 100 times as well as all oil pressure related tests possible.

All parts are produced in-house with the strict ISO/TS16949 quality system implemented to give that all important guarantee, ensuring reliability of each individual unit.

Water Pumps


WATER PUMPS

With a range of 370 pumps for trucks, tractors and off highway, Motive's Heavy Duty range is satisfying the needs and expectations of its customers, fulfilling the requirements by the lowest cost and the best service to their satisfaction.

Our Management System covers the manufacture of water pumps and is based on the PREVENTION of defects and problems. All pumps are constantly tested throughout their production process. Fitment, running, noise levels and leakage have all been tested to the highest standards.

To complement our large range of commercial water pumps we offer a popular range of Water Pump Kits containing seals, bearings and the necessary parts to rebuild these pumps.  Our customers have the complete assurance that the water pumps give the same excellent service life as a new pump.
